About the Artist
I am a graduate of Thornton Academy, Saco, Maine and earned my BFA from the University of Maine, Orono. For the past 24 years, I’ve worked in the MSAD #75 school system (Harpswell, Topsham, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham) offering enrichment programs to gifted and talented elementary students in language arts, math, science, and art.
While raising a family and working, I kept my hand in art doing a variety of work: logos, T-shirts, photography, illustration, and most recently, watercolor painting and alcohol inks.
I live on beautiful Sebascodegan (Great) Island in Harpswell, Maine, with my husband, Rick. We have two grown children, Chris and Jessica. I love to kayak, sail, hike, bike, garden, swim, and take long walks with our dogs.
Much of my art is influenced by my surroundings, the gorgeous colors, sunsets, and the shore & sea life. I discovered alcohol inks a few years ago and am now passionate about the vibrant colors, textures, and how the inks react with each other to create playful and beautiful art. I have recently returned to watercolor painting and have enjoyed exploring both mediums. Two artists who have influenced my art, Sarah Stokes and Nita Engle.
